Xi is intent on undermining, and dissolving America’s network of global alliances, purging Western values from international bodies, and overcoming America’s technological advantages. Xi’s vision for his new multipolar order features global institutions and norms underpinned by Chinese notions of security and economic development, Chinese values of political rights, and Chinese technology.
